LibriVox recording of The Idiot, by John Kendrick Bangs, Read by Gregg Margarite (1957-2012).
The Idiot is anything but, yet his fellow boarders at Mrs. Smithers-Pedagog’s home for single gentlemen see him as such. His brand of creative thought is dismissed as foolishness yet it continues to get under their skin, because when you’re beneath contempt you can say what you please. – This is the first of John Kendrick Bangs' “Idiot” books and was published by Harper and Brothers in 1895. (Summary by Gregg Margarite)

Good piece of satire, and nice ending. I would have liked a few more laughs, but overall this is still worth a listen.
Greg M is an excellent reader, thank you for another good read.
Oct-15-2014 - Listened to it again, just because. You have to pay attention if you want to get the sly jokes.

This story is great from beginning to end. I even enjoyed that everybody went by title (like the Idiot) and not really any names. Once you realize the type of idiot, it sorta makes you want to think like an idiot, too.
