about the artist :
Auckland, New Zealand based sound artist Tim Coster makes audio works involving the use of environmental field-recordings and computer editing/processing, encompassing self-released CD-Rs, gallery installation and live performance. These presentations of processed field recordings and faint musical mistakes. Fragile sound narratives are mixed with approximate fragments of structure and musicality, shifting spatial density and forming mysterious geographies. Tim is also behind the CLaudia label, curates the Audio Pocket performance series and radio show, and performs with Auckland supergroup Plains amongst other improvising formations.
