Fragment van een ijshockey-wedstrijd te Amsterdam. Gefilmd door de heer Anton Bakels en vermoedelijk eind jaren '30. Kenners moeten weten waar het is, gezien het opmerkelijke ronde gebouw op de achtergrond. (Alweer)vermoedelijk is het een Zandvoortse ploeg tegen een Amsterdamse ploeg, aangezien de heer Bakels uit Zandvoort kwam.

Subject: Old time hockey without helmets

A hockey game played outdoors in 1930s Amsterdam. Those days winters were cold in regions where hockey was played. Watching hockey was like this, still in the 1960s. People in the audience are dressed for cold weather, but seem to freeze anyway. The players look thin compared to the hockey heroes of today. The match isn't so tough, but Anton Bakels manages to follow the puck fairly well and show the action there is. A movie for anyone with a feeling for hockey and hockey culture.
