An old series of colloid books which are well worth the read.
I remember interloaning these texts when I did my PhD almost 20 years ago. They were sufficiently old texts to be kept in archives which required interloaning. They are an excellent distillation of all the early colloid research done in America and Northern Europe in the late 19th and early 20th century. The books went out of vogue I imagine as chemistry moved on to different areas but with the revival of colloid chemistry under the area of "nanotechnology" these books are a very relevant read and I am glad they are coming in more modern forms. Thoroughly recommended reading if you are wanting to get an historical perspective or some early papers which would not immediately be amenable due to the early issues of the journals they came from and the fact that they are not published in English. Do check them out as they are a useful fount of knowledge for people engaged in nanotech-based research
