Notes
Set One: Melvin Seals (keys), Stu Allen (g), Marty Holland (b), David Kemper (d), Mary Holland and Judith Coleman (backing vocals)
Set Two: Stu, Marty, David, Mary, Judith, Ruben Diaz (guitar), Tim Stretton (keys), and Tie-Dye Steve on vocals for Masterpiece.
NOTES: This is really two shows in one. The long first set was the regular JGB performance for the night. Melvin had to leave early to catch an early morning flight from San Francisco, so the rest of the band played later with Ruben Diaz and Tim Stretton filling in - check out this very rocking set!
Source: AT822 > Sony M1 for 3min 24 sec, then AKG SE300B w/ CK91 cartridges > UA-5 > Sony D8.
Lineage: DAT dubbed from Sony A6 > DAT dubbed from Sony D8 > coax > Tascam DA-30, then Sony M1 > Soundforge (levels, eq, patching) > CDWave (tracking) > dBPowerAmp (FLAC)
Mastering Notes: First three and a half minutes of Sugaree came from my AT822 > Sony M1 source. Both sets were equalized to improve presence and strengthen the low bass. Second Set (disc 3) had just over two minutes of between-song crowd chatter removed from several places in order to fit it on one 80-min disc.
