Subject: Pleasantly Surprised

Very nice and clear for a soft spoken acoustic artist. Just streamed this for mood music but now I'm going to have to grab it up.

Subject: dissappointed

i know this is free, but mp3 format sounds awful! Where is the bass? How much better are the flac format, or should i not bother.

....mediocre talent, will sing for food? Please, if you wanna be an elitist bootleg snob take it elsewhere, clearly you're not a musician, if you were you'd respect Jack for what he can do, which is sing with a velvet voice, write excellent songs and put out nice chops on the guitar, and I'm NOT one of the Positive Review Army as you put it. Go back to leading the Negative Review Army and listening to whatever you call music, and leave the good folks who like JJ be. Pwned. :) lol

Subject: Mediocrity Prevails

Hello, Jack's positive review "army" -- lol.

Until relatively recently, before the rap/hip-hop
rubbish degraded the status of recorded music
to a steaming pile of bull droppings, this
terribly mediocre talent would have to be
content to strum his ukulele on a street
corner, holding a *will sing for food* sign.

What a sadly pathetic decline it has been!

Subject: ***** Absolutely Fantastic ******

I have listened to quite a few high rated pulls of various shows. This might be the best I have ever heard from Jack or DMB. It is so nice having this since he does not have any live CD's at the store. The quality on this is just about as good as something like that. This is one of the diamonds of my entire music collection.

Subject: the bomb

i understand that there are a ton of reviews on this show already, but i just have to say that i have pulled a lot of Jack's stuff, and this is the best!

Subject: Great Recording

This is a great recording of Jack. The song on it are sweet. Totally Recommend

Subject: WAIT

This show is just fine, but the recently uploaded Bonnaroo '05 recording puts this one to shame. Quick, download it and burn it. I would have to say it's the quintessential Jack recording from setlist to sound quality.

Reviewer: DGitlin - 5 out of 5 stars - December 9, 2005
Subject: Terrific

This sounds very clean. A little echo on the vocals, but that's to be expected. This is a very high quality aud recording, I'd say 8.5/10, if not higher.

There was a previous comment about the kick drum being high in the mix. I didn't notice that, but then I'm listening with headphones and no EQ applied.

Highly recommened...great set list too.

this show is amazing. the sound quality is excellent, and the setlist is awesome. definately worth a download!

Subject: VERY NICE!

Excellent quality on this recording. This show has crystal clear and rich sound. Definitely recommended---O'B

**PS** However this show never seemed just right to me, and after reviewing--the WAV is 'Offset' high. Meaning that most of the wav is above the center of each channel. You can check and FIX this with any sound editor. Audacity is FREE. Load a wav file into Audacity--go to edit-select all--go to effect--select normalize--select "DC OFFSET" ONLY (aka vertical displacement)(deselect other choice), after it finishes select amplify--choose 3(db's)(choose the SAME amount for every song) might slightly clip a few songs but trust me it will sound much better. Also a LITTLE bass will help. After edits this is the best recording of this year.
Thanks---O'B

Subject: A MUST for all Jack Johnson Fans

This is one of the best recordings i've heard. Perfect sound with none of the extreme bass in most of the other recordings. This show is a must have for all Jack Johnson fans. Its got lots of Jack's "add-ons" to his already amazing songs.

Thanks so much for recording the recording. Hats off to ya.

Subject: Merlo where art thou?

Wonderful show ... clean, clear recording ... but no Merlo. The kick drum is very evident but Merlo is barely there ... what is going on?

Subject: Unreal for Jack Fans

Check it out, that's about all I can say...most of the Jack recordings posted on this site are bass heavy, drunk girl heavy or just f'n heavy. This is his most solid recording and truly sums up this summer's tour. Download it onto your computer and get a damn good taste of this Hawaiian gem--and for those of you who haven't seen him live--this really deviates from his album recordings and the piano jams!

Subject: Audible Melodies!

I am very impressed with the quality of the entire recording, as well as the playlist itself. I was lucky enough to see JJ in both San Diego and Boston, and this recording will always take me back to his Summer 2005 tour. Love this version of "Sitting, Waiting, Wishing" with the first verse of the Cars' "Just What I Needed" interwoven seamlessly. Ever since I first heard the track laced w/the Cars' ode to unrequited love at the San Diego show, I've been smitten. I've finally found a pure, untainted recording. Enjoy!

Subject: A Summer to Remember

I was fortunate enough to catch JJ's show in Indianapolis. The clear recording and sparkling mix of the crowd and music transported me right back to that perfect evening with the crowd singing along with Jack. Nice job!!! Thanks for sharing your fine recording.

Subject: Best Show Ever

I have to say, this is Jack's best sounding show on here. All levels are just right - the music, the crowd, everything. It's like listening to a soundboard, even though it's a taper. This show is a MUST MUST have. Perfect example of this summer tour. I was at the first night at Rumsey Playfield, Central Park, NYC. Awesome. Like a big beach party.

Subject: Great Recording - Bit of EQ?

Overall nice recording but would be even better with a bit of EQ. Maybe a bit of Low to Mid and a 4khz boost sounds better to my ears. I guess we can do this ourselves but anyway well done.

Subject: wow

definitely one of my favorite live jack shows. good quality recording, and he does some of my favorite songs. i didnt get to see him live this summer, so this will suffice. i absolutely LOVE his cover of Greg Brown's "spring wind" ... i think i like this version better than the other one you can download. i listen to this recording and it just really makes me wish that i could have seen him live on this tour. but oh well...

Reviewer: Jonathan Aizen - 5 out of 5 stars - August 21, 2005
Subject: Good Times

Sound quality is good and enjoyable. It's great to hear Jack's style live and see how different it is from both past years and from the studio rendition. Worth a download!

Was taping at this show myself with DSM6M from dead center 2/3 of the way back. This recording is much better than mine with better bass and a much better vocal mix. Good setlist... Great sound.

Subject: Jack At His Best

Out of all the times I've seen Jack, this has been the best I've seen him. This show has amazing sound quality and everyone should check it out :)

Reviewer: anhdres - 4 out of 5 stars - August 18, 2005
Subject: good!

nice sound, wide enough, could have more bass, but has a great balance between voice and instruments.

Notes

Entire show with Zach Gill on organ, except where noted.

+ w/ Dan Lebowitz
% Zach on accordian
* Jack solo
** w/ Zach and Matt Acosta

Notes:

A parametric eq was applied at 54hz throughout to reduce the level of the kick drum which
was prominent in the recording. Entire soundfile was normalized. Sector boundaries verified with shntool.
