Subject: A fun little jack solo show
I was the taper of this show. It's crazy that it was a year and a half ago. The moonshine festival was a two day music, art, and film festival. There was great food, drinks, music, art, it was just a blast with everyone in the southern california surf community out and grooving. This was night 1 and it was a lot more packed then night 2 (most likely because of Jack). The sound at the outdoor ampitheater was just perfect that night. So clear, so crisp, and even though it was packed to the gills, the recording came out so perfect. just the right little amount of distant crowd noise cheering between songs. the lights and the mood made this late summer night show a lot of fun. It's cool also to hear the tommy guerrero guest-ing on bass and the other little 'sit ins'. The show was cool too because it was the first live performance of 'Better Together' and as jack says in the show, he left the next day to fly to hawaii to start on his next album. that album turned out to be 'In Between Dreams' which came out March 1, 2005. A fun recording of mostly jack solo doing a no-frills acoustic night.

Subject: THE BEST JACK JOHNSON REC PERIOD!!!
Thanks Tyler, First grabbed this on Easytree last year. Some really nice JJ shows have come up recently (Verizon 08/05--by vandelay), however none come close to this amazing show--GREAT vibe and recording, honestly best audience recording I've ever heard. Thanks again Tyler-----O'B

Some new songs, some cool stories, excellent sound, super chill. Greg Brown cover is awesome.

Notes

played but not recorded: Encore of jack solo playing 'Times like these' with some lyrics of 'Mediocre Bad Guys' tossed in and some references to the war in iraq.

This was part of The Moonshine Festival surf art, music and film festival.

Jack Johnson set was Jack Johnson (solo) except when guests were noted. The guests were:
* with Adam Topol on Congas
& with Donavon Frankenreiter on guitar and vocals
% with Tommy Guerrero on bass
