Subject: Great stuff
It is funny after listening to this you will see just how much hookah is lacking without John in it. I think this stuff really swings. Listen to the vipers drag real jazzy stuff here. When I hear john do what si usually a sweeny part of the song you hear a different person. Sweeny adds a attitude whre a John has a more honest way of playing, less accents. I really like the Pink Floyd bit too. I really like the way he puts his spin on their music. Anyone who says the man has no talent or cannot sing needs to listen to this. I personally really like all the songs he does and he adds so much to hookah. John is so far beyond Ed as a guitar player. I happen to like the crooner style of singing he does. It really adds well to a ballsd. No lollypops and unicorns, just honest words and lyrics about real topics. After hearing most of these song with hookah I see how much infulence he really had. He is not perfect by any means but after talking to the man a few times in East Lansing and Detroit shows I found him to be a very intellegent, cool cat. Out of all the hookah members I thought her would be the hardest to approach and talk to. After meeting him I knew othewise. While each hookah memeber brings their own unqiue talents to the fold, the swing and jazz seems to come from John and Dave, the country from cliff the southern hard rock from sweeny. No longer should he be called the black sheep of anything and he should be celebreated as a founding important member of one of my favorite bands. A must for any hookah fan.

This show is as if we are watching someone “dance like no one is watching,” a look at the gifted and enigmatic Mullins, warts and all. Gina, Emma, and Paradise is some truly beautiful music, brought to life. This show has some great moments, along the goofiness that makes Mullins one cool cat. It is great that John is back at home with ekoostik hookah, but this a listen at the heart of the man without the dense thickness of hookah jams, his voice at its best, and his guitar work flying without a net . . . I hope that all those who stumble on this check out eH to see what the rogue is up to these days.

Subject: Excellent Show
I was at this show as well, Corey is right that at this time Mullins was focused and writing great songs. His band was super tight. This show is a great representation of that.

Subject: old days
since nobody has commented on this show but it keeps climbing on the most downloaded shows, and since i was there i will comment on it. after john left hookah, he was focused for awhile. he put together a real fun band. there was also a violin player in the band at this time. i don't know if he's on this recording. john writes amazing songs and they sounded great this night. its nice to hear these songs back where they belong, in hookah.
