Subject: Cool instrumental uke
I haven't listened to the other source yet to compare, but this source is great. very clean and crisp. Cool instrumental uke work by a solo musician. no vocals, but really fast finger picking with a cool style. I had just heard of this guy and it sounds like he's causing quite a stir. Also, I cannot hear any of the 'bleed through' that the taper mentions occurring from a nearby stage... It sounds dead silent to me and the uke is loud and clear no problem.

Subject: Yes, ukelele music
I didn't know ukelele music could be this beautiful. Jake is a master. Various different kinds of music, all very enjoyable. Excellent sound quality. Get it.

I didn't think this show was ever gonna surface but here it is. I was sitting behind the tapers so I knew for sure someone had it :). Thanks a ton !

Subject: Thanks for the positive feedback!
This was one of the best sets of music I saw in 2006 and believe me I saw *a lot* of music last year! While this recording suffers from the bleed-through from another stage at the festival (hence the 3 star rating), I am honored to be the first upload since Jake gave approval for recordings of his music to be shared on the Archive. He's so talented and his music should be heard by more people. Please support Jake by buying his official releases and going to see him in concert - either solo or with Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefer Band. Can't wait until I can record him again! Thanks to rowjimmytour for hooking up Jake with the Archive.

Subject: Wonderful
Hey everyone.
I will spare you the details, but a few years ago, some friends and I created a Uke band, covering rock tunes on a A. C. E. F. G. scale.
Then we figured out how to play a few other cords as well... And now I need to know what kind of Uke you play, Jake.... Alto? Soprano?? bigger than mine?
Please let me know, as you have insired us to really step it up a notch.
If your travels ever bring you to Southern Quebec Canada, PLEASE! let me know.
Mahalo.

Can't wait to see more shows posted.. thank goodness for wwww.archive.org !

Subject: Aloha indeed
This appears to be the first of Jake's live shows to be uploaded. Fine sound quality which allows his Uke to be heard. Jake is undoubtedly the best at what he does and he shows that here, Nice selection of songs, from classical to jazz to 'ukegrass'. Includes the song that got him know. WMGGW.
