I dont know how this show has eluded me for so long. have been loving the KD3 for a few years now but this show illustrates the core of the amaingness that would follow

Hey, I just needed to chime in that I am loving this and all of the other KDTrio shows.

So far, this is the only one I have been able to listen to, but it sure is a jazzy treat. The recording is VERY crisp. The band is very into the grooves they are putting out to the fans. There is light chatter from the audience, but it is light enough just to add a bit of atmosphere.

All in all, a quality show to add and a nice starting point for this group. That said, keep the KD shows coming and we will send karma to the uploader and tapers.

Notes

2 source, 4 track post-matrix:

Source 1 [ADK-A51tls (split omni at front center table, back of dance floor) -> 15' Silverpath Cables -> BM2p+ Mod. Edirol UA-5 -> SVU2 -> MicroTrack 2496 @ 16bit/44.1khz] + Source 2 [AKG C 414 B-XLS/ST (wide-cardiod, on stage, ~ 12' separation, L @ 36" high in front of sax, R @ 24" high in front of keys) -> Sound Devices MP2 -> MOTU UltraLite @ 24bit/88.2khz -> PowerBook G4/AudioDesk 2.04] -> AudioDesk 2.04 (import Source 1 and resample Source 2 to 16bit/44.1khz; time-align and time-scale Source 2 segments* to Source 1; set 4 track mix; Bounce to Disc w/ plug-ins on master fader: Parametric EQ v4.0.2 (hpf); Dynamics v3.0.2 (light compression); Trim (normalize); split tracks) -> .aiff -> xACT v1.58 -> FLAC (level 8)

Recorded by Brian Da Silva (Source 1) and James Bartoli (Source 2)
Mastered, and FLAC'd by James Bartoli

*Notes: Source 2 was meant to be a part of a matrix recording, however the laptop froze a handful of times during the show (all but one in the first set) probably due to the extreme 105+ deg. heat in the room that evening. Upon reopening the project, all but ~ 40 minutes (not included) of one of the two SBD channels were completely lost. Fortunately, the two stage tracks were complete but for the brief time it took me to get the recording re-started each time the laptop froze. Thank you to Brian for providing his complete source to mix in as the master timeline and to fill in the gaps in mine. Each time the laptop froze, there is an approx. 30 - 60 second gap in the stage source. These parts are noticeable, if listening closely, by the brief losses of the much more direct stage sound.
