litmus0001 is Jonathan Ewald, a multi- instrumentalist and gifted producer from the U.S. who creates ambient soundscapes by way of live instrumentation through a series of effects and loops. While the six string bass is his focus, his use of guitar, synth, and programmed rhythms is exemplary and helps add to the depth of his improvisations. His music has been described as "downtempo neo-psychedelic organo-electronic post-/avant-/anti-rock," and this portrayal barely scratches the surface. This release is five tracks that clock in nearly an hour of haunting drones, sub-bass oscillations, and beautiful ambiences.
