This is a pretty sweet recording of Lauderdale with Jay Burgess of Sons of Roswell on guitar. The band was opening for Glossary from Murfreesboro, Tenn., the day after Thanksgiving at the Old Town Tavern in Sheffield. As you will be able to hear, the place was packed and there's a bit of conversation here and there. Listen for the beer bottles being tossed into the trash! It's more pronounced between tracks and the band drowns it out during the songs. I think this is probably my best Lauderdale recording so far.
Lauderdale is a great indie rock band from the Muscle Shoals area of Northwest Alabama. They've been slowly gaining noteriety in the southeast, building some momentum as they pick up shows in the region. They are part of a growing scene of new Muscle Shoals musicians that includes artists like Jason Isbell, Sons of Roswell, The Fiddleworms, Firewood, BoomBox, Doc Daily, Red Mouth, Planet Ink and others. If they come to your town, check them out and always, support indie music, buy a shirt, buy a disc, thank the band.
