Holograph entries in these ledgers document the purchases of Thomas Lincoln from 1804 until 1808, until his move to the Sinking Springs farmstead, where his son Abraham was born in 1809. Some of the purchases reflect his courtship and marriage to Nancy Hanks

The two store ledgers list names, purchases, and payments made during the time period from July 2, 1804 to February 14, 1810. Transactions in the first ledger appear by account holder. Transactions in the second ledger appear chronologically by date of purchase
