Besides editing, William Lloyd Garrison has to set the type, print, and mail the Liberator. Garrison writes: "We have just taken a colored apprentice, however, who will shortly be able to alleviate our toil." The Liberator has been recieved by the white population "with suspicion or apathy." Garrison says: "Upon the colored population in the free states, it has operated like a trumpet-call."
