Year of production from legacy card catalog
On verso, the delivery address is "Rev. A. A. Phelps, Care of Rev. E. D. Moore, Barre, Mass." It was postmarked on Aug. 11 in Boston
In this letter to Amos A. Phelps, George Russell discusses matters concerning a collection of articles to be published, presumably, in the Massachusetts Abolitionist. However, he also states that a committee voted to transfer the paper to the Emancipator. He then relays the content of John Scoblés letter to Phelps about his (Scoblés) letter to Mr. Phillips, which addressed the ́women question,́ and which was handed to Garrison in spite of Scoblés request for confidentiality. Finally, he reports that Mr. Brackett will sign no more notes for the Abolitionist
