On verso, the delivery address is "Rev. Amos A. Phelps, [Nassau?] Court, Boston

George Allen writes to Amos. A. Phelps about the necessity of a new anti-slavery paper in Boston. He praises Dr. Porter ([the editor of New England Spectator]) for his work, but says the Spectator has ́done its works, and must give way to another.́ He believes Phelps and Cowles, with their differing experiences and strengths, will make good editors of the new paper. He goes on addressing the role of religion in this proposed antislavery paper
