In this letter to Amos A. Phelps, Lewis Tappan discusses materials for the ́Union Missionary.́ After giving some advice with regard to Phelpśs recent illness, Tappan assures Phelps of his support in case he leaves the ministry in East Boston and comes to New York to work for him. He then discusses a variety of matters, including Mr. Fairbank, who went to Lexington from Oberlin in quest of the wife of a fugitive slave, the result of Dr. Lafońs lectures in West Brookfield, and an upcoming abolition meeting in New York
