Holograph, signed
Edward Morris Davis tells of the success of his anti-slavery paper [the Pennsylvania Freeman?]. Davis asks: "What are your prospects for the Standard in May? ...I have taken my passage for Liverpool in a Boston steamer ..." Davis asks for letters of introduction. He has heard that the Third Party group intends to employ G[eorge] Bradburn as the editor of their paper. He discusses their difficulties. He heard that the number of subscribers to the National Anti-Slavery Standard had decreased greatly and comments on the reduced circulation of anti-slavery newspapers in general. He gives his views on the future of New Organization newspapers. He is very much interested in the Standard
