Miss Wigham discusses the insertion of the remonstrance signed by Dr. John Gordon Lorimer and others in the American newspapers. She says that she and her friends have been trying to expose the Turkish Mission fraud and that she hopes to hear Harriet Beecher Stowe's opinion of the American Board of Missions. Miss Wigham discusses the contributions to the anti-slavery bazaar. On a clipping about an upcoming "Free Labour Bazaar" in London "to extend the use of free labour cotton goods, with a view to the discouragement of slavery in the American States," Miss Wigham informs May that Harriet Martineau is gravely ill
