Title devised by cataloger
James Miller M'Kim writes William Lloyd Garrison with a letter of introduction for Mme. C. Garnaud Launoy of Paris, whom M'Kim states is travelling the United States with the "view of studying its institutions, & manners & customs", with a particular emphasis on slavery. M'Kim asserts that Mme Garnaud is a "true abolitionist" who has played an "earnest part" in the effort in France leading to the abolition of slavery in Guadeloupe and Martinique. M'Kim states that Mme Garnaud is desirous to meet Garrison, and begs him to take any opportunity he may find with Wendell Phillips or Edmund Quincy to welcome her when she arrives in Boston
