Holograph, signed with initials
Mary Gray Chapman expects Aunt Mary's family to pass a few weeks in Newton, a short distance from them. Mary G. Chapman asks Deborah to get for her two books she fancies, old or new. She has been reading Miss Pardoe and doesn't like her at all. [Julia Pardoe was a popular English writer.] She wants Deborah to explain how Wendell [Phillips] can lecture at Charlestown and Bridgewater the same day. Mary Gray Chapman's father does not seem up to very long walks this summer, though he is far better than the last week they were at home
