Holograph, signed
James Miller M'Kim would prefer to contribute an article to the Liberty Bell on some other subject than fugitive slaves. It might create the impression that he was a man of only one idea. M'Kim says that few people "can understand an abstract idea ...To make our anti-slavery idea fully understood, you must put legs on it." He dwells on the new importance that the Vigilance Committee has acquired. He refers to "the change you have made in the Standard."
