Manuscript is encapsulated
N.R. Johnston pens William Lloyd Garrison expressing his hopes that Garrison will be in attendance at their proposed anti-slavery convention, to be held in West Randolph on August 24-25. Johnston states that he hopes that both Garrison and Wendell Phillips can attend, but that he especially wants Vermonters to see and hear Garrison so that their preconceived notions concerning the man and the tenets of Garrisonian anti-slavery will be disabused. Johnston states that once Garrison has confirmed participation, he will proceed to invite Parker Pillsbury and Charles Lenox Remond, among others
