Maria Weston Chapman sends William Lloyd Garrison "a copy of a carefully made list of the petitions which have passed through the hands of the committee of the Boston Female A.S.S. [Anti-Slavery Society]." The petition is against the annexation of Texas, with the number of signers of each petition. The petitions are designated by the name of the town in which they were circulated
There is a separate, undated letter from Maria Weston Chapman to William Lloyd Garrison. As secretary of the Boston Female Anti-Slavery Society, Chapman is sending Garrison a copy of resolutions
