Holograph, signed
In this letter, Edward Morris Davis says that copies of the Liberty Bell arrived four hours before the closing of the [Philadelphia] anti-slavery fair, at which they made upwards of $750. The state meeting surpassed anything they had ever known, "in feeling and in fruit." John A. Collins contributed much to its success, as well as an address by Dr. [David] Nelson. Edward M. Davis asks if Collins could not be spared for Pennsylvania for a year or two. The "change proposed respecting the F[reeman] & Standard" was carried, in spite of Collins's warning against it. He reports on pledges
