Richard Davis Webb went with William Lloyd Garrison to Manchester where they were met by a deputation of the United Kingdom (Temperance) Alliance. Webb recalls a visit to Westminster Abbey with Anne Warren Weston and the ultimately successful search for George Thompson's house. Webb mentions William Lloyd Garrison's "cordial and flattering" reception in Newcastle and Edinburgh
In the postscript, Richard Davis Webb comments: "What a tremendous fuss the English are making about the Sultan!"
