Abby Osgood writes this letter from Mrs. Doubleday's parlor; she describes the occupants of the house, their social activities, and the rooms. Abby Osgood reiterates how much Deborah Weston was liked in New Bedford and much she misses her. Osgood has about twenty-four pupils. Osgood gives news of the New Bedford people and the parties she attended. She tells of two German phrenologists who are making a stir in town. She comments on preachers. Abby Osgood wishes that Deborah Weston had come here with her brother
