Holograph, signed "Your loving Father."
Letter written in pencil
William Lloyd Garrison mentions a period of 50 days without rain or snow, now being followed by a dismal spell of weather. He wishes that a female companion could be found for Lucy McKim Garrison for the voyage to Europe. William L. Garrison is uncertain about going. He received a letter from some Englishmen interested in the repeal of the Contagious Diseases Act. William L. Garrison just returned from John T. Sargent's funeral. William L. Garrison writes: "Miss Southwick is having her adopted daughter, Carrie, spend a day or two with us."
