A new executive committee causes rejoicing. Edward M. Davis has urged the enlargement of the Freeman, its weekly publication, etc. Sarah Pugh opposes this idea because of the expense involved and because the Standard is a paper of the kind desired. Sydney Howard Gay informed Sarah Pugh of the need of infusing new vitality into the Standard. Sarah Pugh asks Maria Weston Chapman for help and as a member of National Committee to write the Philadelphia committee about extending the circulation of the Standard. Lucretia Mott is absent in New York; William Lloyd Garrison will report on her "soundness in faith."
