She describes the rivalry between the Garrisonian faction in Edinburgh and the followers of Julia Griffiths and Frederick Douglass. She mentions William Chambers' "American Slavery and Colour" and suggests a review of it by "The Liberator" or the "National Anti-Slavery Standard." Miss Wigham regrets the Dred Scott decision. She speaks of the death of George Armstrong and of the troubles in India
