Holograph, signed
The Liberator continues during William Lloyd Garrison's absence, but with frequent typographical errors found. Garrison believes that the mayor of Boston erred in the handling of the recent riot by deferring to the respectability of the mob. Garrison mentions an excellent letter by Rachel Robinson (Mrs. Roland T. Robinson), who uses nothing produced by slave labor. A rumor was started that the Liberator would be printed in Brooklyn, which aroused considerable opposition. Garrison cannot attend the state convention for domestic reasons
