Holograph, signed with initials
Amos Augustus Phelps is admirably qualified for the work in Connecticut. William Lloyd Garrison holds that segregation in a free church is neither free nor Christian. William E. Channing's book abounds in useful truisms, but it is inconsistent and slanderous and does not compare with John Rankin's Letters. Isaac Knapp is going to put George McDuffie's and other governors' messages on the first page of the next issue (of the Liberator)
