Holograph, signed
In this letter, Jane Jennings writes of "the good done to the cause" by Frederick Douglass. As a result of Frederick Douglass's visit to Cork, Ireland, "for the first time some members of the Church of England have become interested" in the abolition movement. In Limerick, a popular soiree for him was attended by several hundred "respectable inhabitants." Frederick Douglass stayed three weeks with Jane Jenning's family and won their affection
