Joseph Lupton is worried because the box sent by William Lloyd Garrison from Leeds has not arrived. The ladies are much disappointed, but they have nevertheless again collected a few contributions for the bazaar and have sent a box directed to Maria Weston Chapman. The box also contains 4 pounds in gold wrapped in paper, and a parcel for Frederick Douglass from Miss Holland, etc. The ladies want to know if the articles in the box are suitable. They also want to know if Maria W. Chapman's purpose could not be better served by their selling a few smaller articles in England and then sending the proceeds. The 4 pounds that are enclosed were chiefly raised in this way
