Mr. Branagan is discussed; Branagan is the author of an essay on slavery, who was much impressed by the Liberator and William Lloyd Garrison's "Thoughts on Colonization." Mr. Branagan used the initials O. S. M. in his letter to Garrison. The author of this letter writes: "In your notice of the Florida Laws in the Liberator I presume the Slaveholder referred to is Mr. Kingley of Florida as he spoke of paying you a visit ..." Mr. Skelton wants to see Garrison on business. He is looking forward to the coming of autumn, "for with it we look for the disappearance of the the dreaded cholera."
