Holograph, signed
Abby Kelley Foster writes that her anti-slavery society has decided to send only a general invitation to Anne W. Weston's society. They hope to see Anne Weston and her sisters, Mary S. Parker, Lydia Maria Child, and others. Abby intends to offer a resolution to the effect that they will make an effort to raise $500, but she fears it will not pass unless members of the society feel more strongly about the measure. Abby trusts that Angelina and Sarah Grimke will make others feel inclined to support the measure "and then some of you who are apt and devising will decide us to pledge the sum." They want the work for the coming year laid out, so that the anti-slavery society can go straight forward. Abby explains plans for an anti-slavery business meeting
