Holograph, signed
Ralph Randolph Gurley begins the letter: "As you have given publication in your paper on the 23'd of July & of the 13th of August to certain statements in regard to myself which are untrue. I trust you will do me the justice to insert this letter in the Liberator." The letter from Brooklyn, [Conn.], written on August 13, was mistaken; Ralph R. Gurley "never had the pleasure or the opportunity of making an address to the people of colour of that place."
