..actually this show and episode DID air on the old CBN channel
....as I have it on tape. Come to think of it I had taped it (
2:30 AM EST ) the day after that McDonalds California Massacre..July 19, 1984 ( CBN & The 700 Club were airing updates on the shooting during Riley and their other shows such as I Married Joan and Bachlor Father ).

An above average outing which shows that, even as twilight loomed, this show was a best-bet for Friday night viewing in the 50s.
Riley fears Junior's association with hot-rodders is turning him into a juvenile delinquent. The comedy is derived (not surprisingly) from a series of misunderstandings; in fact it seems everybody in the story labors under one misunderstanding or another over the course of this episode.
I SHOULD take a star away for the egregious nature of the edits in this copy but can't bring myself to so it. Why--WHY--should there be 6 minutes of story missing? Not only that, the closing credit roll at the end is NOT the correct one for this episode. I assume the source for this upload is a DVD. Don't get me wrong, it's a great joy to see this episode AT ALL as I don't think it ever ran on CBN...but with sloppy editing and spurious credits, if I had *bought* it I'd be PO'd.
Ironic that Riley's been paired with Our Miss Brooks in one PD DVD release: viewers overwhelmingly chose Wm Bendix and company over a revamped version of Eve Arden's show when the two went head-to-head in 1955-56.
