Okay typical western from the 1930s - good guy infiltrates the group of bad guys and takes care of business. However, atypical in that there is no love interest - even with lovely Joan Barclay present - and no stupid sidekick and, thankfully, not as much riding back and forth as usual. The film is filled with the ususal faces playing both good and bad guys - Ted Adams, Slim Whitaker,, Forrest Taylor, Ben Corbett, Karl Hackett, Frank LaRue and more.

Spuzz, you sidewinding! What for you are picking on Carson, that is not nice. I am thinking you are being green with the ivy, no?
There's at least one other Carson film on this site, and they're both just as cute as can be. Loved it!

Subject: Col. Tim McCoy
Subject: Col. Tim McCoy
Tim McCoy was billed as "Colonel Tim McCoy" because he was an actual Col. in the US Cavalary, as well as being an expert in Indian lore.
He had been an Indian interpreter who helped collect oral histories of the Sioux and Cheyenne participants in the Battle of The Little Bighorn.

Tim Mccoy, who, for some odd reason is listed as ¡°Colonel Tim Mccoy¡¯ in the credits, as if that would make him sound more courageous sounding, (It actually sounds more ridiculous) ¡°returns¡± (where did he go?) in Lighting Carson Strikes Again. In this movie, he must try to find out who framed his brother for a robbery and murder he did not commit. Well, that¡¯s the first half of the movie. The brother seems to dissapear after the first half (off to L.A. from what I can tell) and then Carson seeks to infiltrate the group to try to stop any future holdups from the gang. This involves him, yes, dressing like a Mexican and sort of talking like a Mexican, cutely switching his words from time to time. How the cowboys, who must have some dealings with Mexicans, let this pass I¡¯ll never know. Anyways, Mccoy still can¡¯t shoot properly, still has the biggest cowboy hat you¡¯ll ever see and still looks that silly way whenever he looks pissed. This was an ok time-waster.

Subject: Old fashioned meller

This is definitely light viewing. It's an old fashioned Western set in 1930s California. Lightning Bill Carson is after the black hats disguised as a Mexican no good. He's soon hanging out with the baddies at Hogan's Saloon and turning the tables. He soon finds the money, but what he wants is the man behind it all.
The action is a bit choppy, and some may find the portrayal of the Anglos ethnically offensive. Still, the story moves, it hangs together and the scenery is great, modulo the video codec.
