Subject: I disagree...
I believe that the way Mr. Moon shows the relations between God and Science is awesome!!! It shows how much power and intelligence that He gives man, and how man forgets God and can cause mass destruction. Every science in all Creation points straight to God. How can you not see that?!?!?!?

Subject: Yes, we can thank God for the Atom Bomb.
Mr Catch-22 is back. Yes, Irwin Moon is back telling us all about atomic energy and the atom bomb. Frankly, I¡¯m just a little bothered and nervous by Mr. Moon¡¯s ranting about God creating the atoms relating to science. So if God created the Atom, then he must be held partly responsible for the Atom Bomb right? After all, God created the Atom. Sure, we created the bomb to go with it, but it all comes back in full circle I¡¯m afraid.

Subject: God of the Atom
When I was an 11 year old boy, back in 1970, I saw this movie, at the Sermons from Sciences Pavillion at Man and His World, in Montréal. Man and His World was the continuation of Expo 67, that occured each summer from June to September on the same site as Expo 67. Most of the pavillions reopened each summer, and Sermons From Sciences was one of them.
The movie "Living with the Atom" was called "God of the Atom", with the French version named "Dieu de l'Atome". As an 11 year old, I found that this movie gave me the creeps. It was as good as a horror movie, with the showing of frightening atomic blasts, and the creepy religious message that was transmitted to impressionable minds.
As a grown up, today, I still find the guy Irwin Moon quite creepy, his mix of science and religion gives me the creeps. In 1982, I saw the same atomic tests footage recycled in a more appropriate movie to explain the 50's fascination with atomic bombs: The Atomic Café.
Have a nice day,
Georges in Montreal
