Subject: For those who need or want to learn surface anatomy
This is a fantastic resource for any artist working in life drawing. Another set of illustrations to add to your existing anatomy books. I haven't seen this approach done quite this way in any other book: On each plate you have a picture of the model and then the same photo that's been retouched by an artist to look as if the skin has been stripped away, leaving the muscles for your edutainment.

While the photos are a little high on contrast, they're legible and the text is easy to read.

The only downside to this set of images is that the male plates are missing. Only one male model appears. That's the reason for the three stars.

A good set none-the-less.
