Subject: Liberalism ruins another video
If you a bleeding heart, tree hugging, self-hating American liberal, please don't attempt to taint someone else's view of this or other commercials with your ultra left-wing opinions.

Subject: WHITENESS IS SECURITY!
Whoa! It just doesn't get any more subliminally racist than that...does it? In fact there's nothing subliminal about that tag line. "Whiteness is security." Wow, really mind blowing!

Subject: "Its tingling taste..."? Chloroform!!!
Note where they say "its tingling taste says 'whiteness'...". That "tingling taste" turned out to be chloroform, a known carcinogen even way back then! Its actual effect was to mildly anesthetize your gums while brushing, which felt quite pleasant if you didn't mind the longer-term consequences (mouth cancer)! When this fact was finally discovered by the media, that was the end of Macleans toothpaste as we knew it...no more "tingly taste," so presumably no more whiteness either. :-O

Subject: Learn to speak buddy
In this commercial, Macleans is associated with everything, but more importantly, SECUIRITY! Yes, You'll be more secure in the knowledge that you're teeth are white! Whatever that means. Anyways, I like how they said the name. Instead of 'Mack - Lanes' it's pronounced 'Mack Cleans'.

Subject: Security in Whiteness
Early to mid 1960s commercial for Macleans Toothpaste. Count the number of times the narrator says "White" in this commercial. You'd almost think there was some racial subtext going on with Nordic looking White people romping around in the snow, the narrator constantly repeating about the "security" of being "white". Hmm... otherwise, this is a typical commercial, but with some weird undertones going on.
