Subject: four twenty
I am a UMBC student and heard about this show a few days before it happened, only having seen Matisyahu once on Last Call with Carson on TV. Not the best venue for a hasidic reggae band, but damn did they rock it. The opening band definitely killed my buzz, but once the bass got going, there was no stopping them. The band does a great job supporting his vocals and they do a great job switching beats once Matis and the drummer go head to head.
At the show you couldn't really tell, but after listening to the recording, his voice seems flat only here and there. Overall, solid setlist, guitarist does some of his better solo work, but at times becomes repetitive and I feel like some of my friends can do a better job. Definitely a creative act and I recommend this show to any new fans or old. Definitely check out the Bonnaroo 2005 show if you want a show to put to CD...

Subject: Amazing show
This is an incredible show. A few attendees noted that the hall was less than ideal, acoustically, but that doesn't affect the recording very much. More to the point, the performance is unbelievable - one of the highest-energy, most intense performances in a long time.
