Aphilas - Instrumentally Ill EP [mia049] (0)
ahh it's that time again, time to put pen to paper and try to give you a folks some idea of what to expect from this ep. in days where experimentation and electronics seem to be the order of the day, we at miasmah thought it was high time to pay homage to our roots and what better way to do it than with aphilas' instrumentally ill ep. my notes tell me here we are presented with 'two finnish producers armed with second-hand vinyl and outdated software', need i say more? here we have the perfect accompaniment to those late night smoking sessions, hit repeat and toke on, this is the bristol sound too long forgotten.

Subject: Great!
I hate do be a bandwagon jumper but this album is great! Great trip hop, chill out sound to it--interesting loops, much more professional sounding than most netlabels releases.

Subject: Prisoners Of The Planet
Has anyone heard the alphilas full-length "Prisoners Of The Planet"? it's a little more hectic. The mp3s I have actually sometimes seem to be glitched, but i think it's just the quirky timing of the looped drums. It's actually quite a masterpeice, except for the strange inclusion of an aphilas remix of blink 182's adams song, which is pretty much just the original with some ambient sound effects. it's a really great album though. and this EP is incredible.

Subject: This is fucking unique.
So, as far as every sense in the body is concerned, this album is absolutely amazing. It will most certainly take you on some kind of funky carpet ride, or something of that nature. And, on a lighter note, if you puff on some jeeb before hand, the experience can be elevated to a whole new level.

Wonderful release. This is definitely my favourite album at the moment. I know, I have a substantial part of the more than 3000 downloads of the album :) This album has been streamed to several of my workstations wherever I come.
Keep 'em coming, Aphilas - very nice work, indeed!

Subject: Amazing downtempo nu-chill EP
I hadn't really checked this out before noticing it was being re-released on real-life label M3rck, so now I do, I discover.. a totally beautiful piece of nu-chill, reminiscent of Bent, Zero 7, and other generally laidback fellows. Highly, highly recommended.

Subject: Aphilas - Instrumentally Ill EP
Sehr edel.
(Moritz / www.phlow.net)
