Notes
This is the GORGEOUS and VERY RARE Minutemen Folk City West recording. I’ve had it for years, but have only now just digitized it.
This was the minutemen’s first US tour, and first ever appearance in NYC, and they are on FI-YAH! The recording would be an A+ if the vox were just a C.H. higher in the mix…and the show was complete…As it is, the first song cuts in, and the last song cuts. If ya listen really closely to the stage chatter, it seems like The Product was the last song of the set. Only 6 secs of it is here, which hurts, but what’s here is blistering. Watt blows a clam and starts the song in the wrong key, but gets it back in key just in time fer the recording to cut…oh well…
Don’t let that detract ya, silly! Ya got 36 songs that ARE complete! I have only traded this once, on cassette (which means if ya DO have this, however unlikely, it’s probably at least a gen higher than this. This recording has been outta circulation fer a while. I hope ya enjoy.
PLEASE DO NOT SELL!!
PLEASE DO NOT DISSEMINATE IN MP3 FORMAT!!

THANKS and RESPECT to notsaved for his tireless efforts to get these shows out there. Read his review of this show -- he mentions using azimuth alignment and to anybody who is transferring analog cassettes to digital -- please read up on this topic! It makes a huge difference in being able to get all the information off the tape.
The Minutemen were truly one of the great unsung bands of all time. Anyone who is interested in eccentric, beautiful, amazing, terrifyingly brilliant songwriting and guitar playing needs to have a very careful listen to them. This would be a great starting place. To think that I can carry around my smartphone and stream this show anytime and anywhere I want to is mind boggling.
