Subject: Asses and elbows.
That's the way one person described the tiny room that was the Side Door that night.
This was one of moe.'s first Midwest shows and the first time I saw them. I showed up with mic stand in hand, but the place was already packed and they weren't allowing any more equipment in. I handed over my D-8 to be added onto a long digital daisy chain into the soundboard and returned the rest of my equipment to my car.
The show was tight and yet informal. This soundboard recording doesn't really capture the energy of the crowd.
Check out TAS's excellent audience recording (https://archive.org/details/moe1997-03-15-flac16) which shows that soundboards aren't always superior to a good audience source.
