Subject: Not the Stanley Theater
This venue was never the Stanley Theater, but was until the early '90's known as the Fulton Theater. The old Stanley Theater, which hosted such legendary acts as the Grateful Dead and Frank Zappa, was tranformed during the 1980's into the Benedum Center for the Performing Arts. The Benedum still retains the marquees of "Stanley Theater" on the side of the building.

Just a comment on the theater itself because some folks are talking about the quality of recording. The Byham Theater used to be the Stanley. Stanley was shut down in the 80s and reopened sometime later in the 90s, I believe. I only mention this because listening to the 4 dead shows played here all were really nice crisp recordings, much like this one. Dont know much about the theater but for some reason seems to be very taper friendly. I was at this show and must say it was rockin'

Gary and Jon consistently make the best moe. recordings, and this is yet another. The split is sweeeet!! I didn't realize the show was so good until I listened to it again. WOW! Thanks for the speedy delivery.

One of the best recordings on here!! This show seemed sloppy when I was there, but on second listen it came alive. Thank for this top-notch recording. The separation is something you don't get very often in AUD recordings. Kudos to the taper!

A show which needed a second whirl around the CD player. High-energy all the way. Dunno 'bout the guy who says this recording is "echoey" cause it's one of the best AUD's I've ever heard. Certainly not echoey, just very very crispy!! Get it

Tops out at 4 stars, too echo-y to be consistently a 4-star or up to five. On the other hand, this show is a rager! Lots of energy. Is it just me, or "Tiajuana Donkey Song" too close to "Mexican Cousin"?
For great 5-star shows, get the Merin versions from the March 2004 JamBand Cruise, all of the Las Vegas House of Blues from February, 2003 and July, 2004, and L.A. 10/7/01.

This show was much more than I expected. About a week and a half earlier, I also cought the Buffalo show and was very dissapointed. This show kicked ass. In between major breaks, the crowd chanted"Here We Go Steelers, Here we Go", MOe. was on fire. The recording source is bad ass.

The Bullet>McBain>Kyle's Song Sandwich and the Planecrash ia MOEriffic!! The boys played a handful of good songs, that arent the typical over played moe. tunes. We see this in the new song:Wake up in the Sun..and the encore :Tijuana Donkey Show and Bearsong ...All together a good moe. show!!! A good show for the collection for all moe.rons

I just started listening to this one and I must say this source sounds VERY nice! Very balanced, both guitars and percussionists are separated very well. Sounds like the theaters are where moe. belongs. Thanks for the upload!
