I agree totally. Tabby kicked ass like usual. It's all about the front row balcony. Ths sound quality is much better than most Tabby recordings I've heard from any band. best of the 4 deff. sidenote: I had never heard raq, and they raged pretty hard.

This was a good show, It had very high points. Moth, SOMP,Brent Black, Stranger Than Tiction. But being at the show was not great, people there sucked, during the first set I had to leave the floor because it was so crowded. The music was good, but it put a damper on the night. The band was enthusiastic, with Rob marching over Al during one of his solos. And Al now has a keyboard castle which is net. So all in all a good show, just not what i was expecting...but the next night..AWESOME

I didn't go to Smith's, but i was at all 3 of the others. this show was my least favorite. The first set rocked, SOMP>32 to go with Brent Black and Rob's amazing bass solo, but the second set was not half as good. the energy sucked, and i have never seen so many people just standing there during a second set or an encore. Switch the sets around and take out donkey show from the encore and you've got a decent show.

from my opinion - I'm not a newbie and I've seen my fair amount of moe. the Fox kicked it and it wasn't as gerogemcbain said because the set list is better for "newbies" gerogemcbain & others like - that's just a jerk off comment - the accoustics during the set at the Fox where way better then the Tabernacle not to mention the guys didn't act like assholes to each other. How could you say that Almasterbation in Moth is greatness? not to mention they did that gay thing with Clapton's tune...I left the Tab very disappointed and very confused - did you not see the guys faces as they played? They put way better vibe out at the Fox and that is what I like about moe.

This was my 5th show and it was pretty damn good. Not the best, I've ever been to but still gotta throw up a 5 for it. The Seat of my Pants > 32 Things, by itself, was just hot. Whole 1st set got me going. 2nd set was chiller but still had some nice songs (notably 'letter home'). Check out the Whole Atlanta run (3/2-5)

First, huge props to Jon for getting these Atlanta shows up on LMA so fast, and more importantly, for capturing such good sound. I think that these tapes actually somehow sound better than the sound in the Tabernacle that night -- I absolutely hate the acoustics of that place, but these discs sound fine.
Looking back on the four night Atlanta run, I find this one to be the least interesting of the bunch. Don't get me wrong -- there's some scorching stuff here, namely Al's solo into the last chorus of 32 Things and the BB>Down Boy>BB sandwich -- and solid versions of most of the other songs. But the setlist is heavy on newer, slower, slightly spacier material. If that's your bag, then download away! Personally, I'd have liked to seen another rocker or two thrown into the 2nd set.

I would like to take this time to thank Jon Merin for all of his hard work in getting these Hot'lanta shows up so quickly! I don't know if the people who don't tape shows know how much trouble it is but I am a taper who does. As far as Jon's recordings go, they are some of the best and most consistent sounding (especially moe. shows)!!! I have about 35 of Jon's moe. recordings and have NEVER been disappointed. The fact that I had the first 3 Hot'lanta shows downloaded before I got to the hotel after the Fox show is unbelievable! MAD props to you Jon and THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for being so dedicated to quality and spreading the shows. I have about 1100+ shows and some gems among them. I would like Jon to contact me so that I may send him some shows of his choice for his outstanding efforts.
Peace and Love :)

I was at all 4 nights, and I have to say this was the best of all 4 nights. The boys were so solid this night and the crowd was out of control. The Brent Black>Down Boy, Brent Black was nasty, and wow the moth was super nasty. I hate to ramble, so take my advice and download this show

this show was unbelievable. by far the best of the 4 night run. to echo awesomegary, moe. is all about the rotation; grateful26guitar, you said you'd been looking at the setlists: well, you clearly hadn't if you expected a St. Augustine; moe. simply wouldn't ever repeat a song in such a short rotation, ESPECIALLY if they were on a 4 night run IN ONE CITY! I think your comments were absurd, you obviously don't know moe. very well because the Tabernacle show was absolutely TOP NOTCH. the fox setlists may appear better to the mainstream moe.ron, but anyone who knows moe. well knows that Friday ABSOLUTELY ROCKED

I agree with awesomegary. Why get mad at not hearing a song that was played the night before? The tabernacle is my favorite venue and I got to enjoy one of my favorite artist! I had a very good time.
I also would like to comment on how much fun Raq was (the opening band). Hopefully Jon or someone taped their show...I would love to get my hands on it. If anyone has any info please e-mail me at fullejo@auburn.edu . Thanks.

The show was awesome. It was the highlight of the run for me. As a fellow moe. taper (and friend of Jon's) with lots of my own stuff here on the LMA and over 100 shows under my belt, I have no complaints about this gig at all. In fact, I think it'll prove itself through repeated listenings. If you think there is something lacking with the setlist, you just don't undertand moe. at all (i.e.: Why would they even tease, let alone play, a St. Augustine after having done so at Smith's just two nights earlier? If you were reading the setlists, you'd have known not to expect it.)

Okay, this show was somewhat dissapointing. If you've heard or seen the setlists for the other shows on the ATL run you will see they kicked ass. And then total letdown at the Tabernacle. It was my first moe. show and I was disappointed.
Although they did do some songs that I persoanlly wanted to hear. Like 32 things, moth, wormwood and tgorm. I really wanted to hear St.Augustine and there were so many times during the show that they would be doing a walk to st.a. but it turned out to be a walk on broadway. All of their songs played tongith sounds, if not identical, to those already recorded.
