As the summertime comes, and goes, and we draw closer to the hiatus, it is nice to find a show along the way that I have missed, and find gems hidden within. As always Jon, thanks. Beyond the era of us old tapers, you are on my list of "musical historians", in the true sense of the phrase.
As for PCMcGoo... man, in '84 it was crazy, and we heard about the way it was in '74. I was in witness for '94, the fence breaks, gate crashers, and Jerry's ailing health, and can see why you thought it was so great. Unfortunately, those of us who had been there before, knew we were watching the train wreck happen before our eyes. I'm sad the boys are taking time off, but grateful that it will mean that next year, they will return to the folks that enjoy the shows responsibly, have a great time, and are there for something beyond the medicinals. If you wanna hang in a bus stop, do it.
It's all about the music...

Really nice sound and a great show. Governors Island turned out to be a great venue. Barefoot in the grass on what looked like a college quad, with waitresses from The Highline bringing drinks right to the front of the stage! I know I was happy!
The ferry ride just made it more of an adventure. Al mentions " a couple of thousand" people, but it felt smaller than that. Check out the venue if you get a chance, and download this show!
As always, thanks Jon (and all tapers), and thank you archive.

This show was okay, but it was fuckin' hot, shit. Was so fuckin' hung over that I just wanted it to end. MY buddy, Daddio, actually went to hospital midset because of hepatits. this is what happens when you go all out on tour. we smoked weed, we drank all sorts of alkeehall, smoked mad cigs, but didnt do nothing else that could get us in trouble! Yeah right, you know we roll all the time. Ended up loading up the eastpack towards the end of the show and hit it hardcore. I wish they would keep touring without a break because this scene is about to explode. Glory days baby - ala Dead Summer Tour 94. World rule and more guns on tour babee!

the playing in this show speaks for itself, as does the setlist. i am really impressed with the quality of this recording, especially since it was posted so quickly. thanks so much, nothing like hearing a recording like this while the show is this fresh in your head...
