Notes
This show is ridiculous. Had to circulate, I think I have only tape out there.
Disk 2 Head>Timmy>Head is one of my favorites, the Recreational Chemistry
is fantastic. Enjoy! Jeff

I saw moe once in 2001 and recall having an awesome time. I was actually pretty blown away by the show. I saw them again in 2008 and was less than impressed... bored actually. I at first chalked it up to me getting older. I've since listened to a few of the recent SBDs (5/3/07 and 12/31/07) and was similiarly unimpressed.
On a lark, I went through the struggle of downloading this and 9/20/99 in their unwieldly .shn formats. These are both spectacular recordings and really justify why people were thinking they would be "the next Phish" back then. Too bad it never materialized. This show in particular is a must have. Commence download.

Take a great sdbd recording and combine it with a TREMENDOUS Brent Black>Buster to close set 1, add an EPIC Head>Tucker>Head opener in set 2 and close with a SICK Rec Chem and you have a 5 star show.
This makes a great companion to the night before in Buffalo(their tour opener) as they are certain to play your favorite jams between the 2 nights.
If you haven't heard any old-school moe., these 2 shows will hook you!

excellent sound quality, high energy show. brent black>buster is out of this world, i rate it up there with any moe.show segment i've ever heard! surreal bass line in brent, wish i could've been there to see what the hell rob was doin to get it. also interesting to hear jim playing mostly drum percussion, before he became such a mallet monster... the whole show is nice, but first set takes the cake. get it!! fer sure worth the download! thanks to jeff for it...

thanks to the taper Jeff for this amazing show! This show really suprised me as I'm not a huge fan of the 97-99 years (mostly due to the fact that I was a big Mazur fan and thought Vinnie lacked the same feel) and dont really d/l that many of them. I saw alot of shows in 1996 so I guess I was biased a little when Vinnie took over. He plays amazingly well at this show, however, and the rest of the guys are on fire as well. The brent black bassline that rob lays down sounds very surreal, as if he has bronchitis and he's clearing his throat. Very strange..The head>tucker>head is good, and the Rec Chem is out of hand.... A very solid 5 stars, especially since the matrix mix is dead on.
